Be with the people who bring you joy. Even if you must jump plans at the last minute.  Just do it to be with the people who bring you joy.

Presence is more important than presents.  Your presence most often does not require presents.

It is only one day.  Yes, it is a Holy Day.  But make it count or just move on swiftly.  It is only one day.

Card games and Cranium rock on Boxing Day.  Unless you are losing.  Then card games suck.  But it is Boxing Day and the kid winning is 8 years old.  Lose graciously.

If you don’t like it or won’t use it, return or regift it.  Donate the refund to your favourite charity. The gift is only an expression of love, not a forever unwanted keepsake.

Have faith.  All faiths are better than none.  A long call with a Jewish friend on Boxing Day put my world in perspective.  Faith is good, and also my favourite song, RIP.

Give thanks.  I have so much to be grateful for.  “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.” Cicero.

With love.
