Decluttering | How can I help you?
Whether you simply want to declutter and get rid of unwanted items, or you’re reorganising your home environment, or considering downsizing, maybe you are feeling overwhelmed by the ‘stuff’ in your office, or perhaps you want to help your parents or loved ones transition between homes – Rightsize can help. I provide a personalised one-to-one home and office organising service helping you to make decisions about your belongings; what to keep, gift, sell, auction, donate, duplicate, destroy or discard. I work with integrity, compassion and understanding. I specialise in working with people going through the trauma of a life transition due to illness, bereavement, separation, divorce or family concerns.
Decluttered and Organised | My happy clients
“My family was faced with the logistically and emotionally difficult task of moving my mother, aged 83 with advanced dementia and hoarding disorder, from the UK to the USA. It would literally have been impossible without the advice and help of Sarah Macnaught of Rightsize. During my trips to the UK, over a 9 month period, Sarah helped with the process of sorting thought and clearing unwanted items from the house, with sensitivity and tact. In the final 3 months, after my mother had moved to the US to live with us, Sarah, professionally and efficiently, handled the management of packing and shipping items, clearing the house and co-ordinating the sale of the house with the estate agent. She ensured every detail regarding the house was considered, which allowed me to give my mother my full attention during a very challenging, but successful transition.”
Sarah is best kind of therapy: after a day reorganising and throwing out I feel more energised than I could possibly imagine. This is the best money I have ever spent – the joy of seeing Sarah leave with a car full recycling, charity stuff, things for the homeless etc is amazing!
When my husband moved out Sarah helped me reclaim my bedroom and make it mine… and the rest of the house too!
Sarah has a subtle way of getting on with things, gentle and knowing. She helped me focus and makes sure each time she comes we have a clear objective of what we want to accomplish, and we don’t stop until we get there as she kept me going in the best possible way.
“As a family of three we moved from our 3-bed house in Hampton Hill 6 years ago into my parents substantial house in Twickenham.
My parents left everything they didn’t want to take to their more manageable apartments down the road – which included some real treasures, but a lot of old files and detritus.
Our stuff merged with theirs, and after two years of refurbishment, and a great deal of ‘stuff’, I realised I could not keep maintaining a house of over 4,500 square feet and everything in it. I put the house on the market and was given Sarah’s details – head of Rightsize Ltd.
I cannot speak more highly about her organisational detailing and understanding. She first helped me with well over 20 years of very complicated paperwork – with bags upon bags of shredding and paper recycling, getting things out for clearance, more recycling, and then items that could go to charity or auction house. She helped me look at what we could and could not take with us to a house half the size of the one we were in.
If she had not held my hand, I would not have got through this process with any sense of calm. She has helped me through a very difficult time with care, kindness and focus.”
“Sarah makes choosing very easy and simple. She is not rigid at all and understands the emotional issues involved. Sarah helped me to the point that I can now remove things on my own. Now I can actually plan my time and my life. I can now move to the USA next month.”
“Thanks Sarah, for everything. My brain is overflowing. ME/CFS includes cognition problems. For example, I can’t do joined up thinking any more. I could not have managed all this alone.”
“I wanted to thank you again for decluttering my room on Saturday. That was amazing. You have been so helpful. I was in such a mood that I finished the entire room that afternoon. I am really happy with the results and feeling so good! Thank you so much.”
